COATRESA is focusing part of the projects of its R+D Department on the substitution of solvent based products. In this way, we continue in the line of continuous improvement and innovation. We want to improve the health of our workers as well as being environmentally friendly.
In COATRESA we are aware of the current critical situation derived from the high emissions of CO2 that are released into the atmosphere. These are from the use of fossil fuels and from the industry, and for that reason we want to contribute to improve the environment. Therefore, one of our main challenges is to move to 100% H2O-based products, free of n-methylpyrrolidone (NMP free). In this way we will work with non-carcinogenic, non-mutagenic and non-toxic substances for reproduction (CMR free).
Environmentally friendly and labour benefits
With these measures, our workers will be able to work in a healthier environment, so that the environmental benefits will be combined with the employment advantages. This will be thanks to having fewer VOCs (volatile organic compounds), with the consequent improvement in potential occupational risks.
We expect to have a full implementation of the use of environmentally friendly products and the health of workers by the end of 2019. The R&D Department is in charge of the homologation of all the coating systems that we apply for all types of industry.
