Force preventing a material from getting rusty or corroded by any chemical. Alloys with a low resistance to corrosion tend to be coated with highly sealed protecting polymers, such as HALAR®, TEFLON® or RILSAN®.

Fluorocarbon (PTFE or TFE) components are chemically inert and resistant to high temperatures. They are mainly applied as an anti-corrosion insulator and as a nonstick coating.
